AUDIENCE REVIEWS

A clever satire with a great soundtrack and a terrific performance by Pat Skipper.

This was one of the best short films I have seen in a very long time,. So much richer than anything I saw at the Oscar's. A Black Comedy Noir for the modern age. It's a generational square-off between the Millennials and the Baby-Boomers, with neither faction really "winning".

A hilariously extreme commentary of the perils of vigilante justice unfold in this short film.

A thoughtful and well-paced film with superb acting all around. The darkly comic story feels relevant and definitely of-the-moment. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this tense, offbeat short. The performances are sharp, the cinematography stylish, and the tone walks a clever line between dark comedy and earnest idealism. A half-hour well spent—and surprisingly thought-provoking.

I thoroughly enjoyed this captivating, unconventional short about a group of idealistic twenty-somethings. The performances are solid, the cinematography is elegant and the tone expertly balances dark humor and sincere idealism.

"We Are the Apocalypse" threads the needle between political provocation and pulpy thriller with remarkable finesse. The story of an idealistic arts collective veering into terrorism takes unexpected turns, especially as internal betrayals and shifting motives blur the line between justice and chaos. Helen Laser and Yair Ben-Dor are magnetic, but it’s Pat Skipper—world-weary and oddly serene as the abducted D.R.—who quietly dominates the screen. His performance adds a layer of tragic wit, as if being kidnapped was just another appointment in a very long day. Marike van Dijk’s haunting, evocative score—reminiscent of Waaxman’s "Rear Window"—is the perfect sonic companion to the film’s shadowy aesthetic. Smart, sharp, and beautifully shot, it’s a noir for our anxious age.
